“As far I’m young I make bad works” is a series that turns self-doubt into artistic method. With disarming irony, Karabinovych embraces failure as part of creativity, transforming mistakes into space for experimentation. The works are homages and translations, excavating artistic influences across geographies: from Odessa Conceptualism with its wit and critique, to Balkan figures like Mladen Stilinović and IRWIN, to references to Broodthaers and Moscow Actionism.

By reworking iconic gestures—such as Stilinović’s banner or his Sing! performance—Karabinovych shifts their meaning into today’s political and linguistic conditions. A hryvnia note across the forehead says not “sing” but “shut up,” asking whether art can still speak freely under pressure. A toy bird replaces Broodthaers’s parrot, probing authenticity and representation.

Together these works form both artwork and curatorial map: sketching connections between peripheral contexts and questioning how legitimacy, language, and power operate in the global art system.
